Omicron Iota Chapter and Faculty Advisors

Bro. Demetrius Smith - Chapter Faculty Advisor

Greetings! I was born to the parentage of Wallace Edward Smith and Cynthia Y. Carter-Bulger on October 27, 1972. I received Bachelors of Art degrees in History and Political Science from Valdosta State University, in December 1994 and June 1995 respectively. I furthered my educational endeavors by obtaining a Masters of Education degree in Student Personnel in Higher Education from The University of Georgia in June 1997. In January 2003, I will begin work on my Doctor of Philosophy degree at Georgia State University in Educational Policy Studies with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration. Presently, I am the Assistant Director of the Student Development Center at KSU with responsibilities for supervising the Office of Minority Student Retention Services.

In the area of fraternity involvement, I serve as the Keeper of Records for the Decatur (GA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, the 2002 Michael J. Graves Alumni Chapter of the Year for the Southeastern Province. Yet, I owe my love for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated to the training for leadership that I received from the "Fiery" Lambda Phi Chapter and Valdosta Alumni from Fall 1993 until present.
